Grants are available to charitable organisations working to benefit residents within 25 miles of Coventry.
Objectives of Fund
The charitable trust is well known locally, in Coventry, for supporting initiatives that bring benefits to Coventry and its community.
Support ranges from large strategic projects to a large number of small local projects and may be in the form of specific single grants, or support for ongoing activity.
Match Funding Restrictions
Match funding is not a specified requirement.
Who Can Apply
Charitable organisations working to benefit inhabitants within a 25 mile radius of Coventry are eligible to apply.
Applications from national organisations are accepted providing they can show that the grant will benefit people living within this area.
The Charity does not consider applications from individuals.
Higgs Charity provides grants for general charitable purposes with a preference towards the promotion of child welfare and particularly the welfare of underprivileged children.
Grants can be used towards projects that achieve the following:
- Relieve poverty.
- Promote economic and community development, and employment.
- General charitable purposes.

Applications should be made in writing and include the information requested on the Charity’s website.
The following should also be sent with the application:
- Most recent annual accounts
- Last annual report
- Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety Policies
- Policies and procedures that ensure the protection of children, young or vulnerable people where appropriate
