Award for individuals or voluntary and community groups in the UK undertaking adventurous activities.

Objectives of Fund
The scheme is intended to support groups undertaking adventurous endeavours.
In particular, the scheme wishes to fund adventurous “firsts”, which have not previously been attempted.
Examples of eligible projects include:
- The scaling of unclimbed peaks.
- Navigational firsts.
- Sporting firsts.
- Expeditionary firsts.
The value awarded is £2,500.
It is a condition of the Award that the successful applicant(s) gives a presentation to the Society on completion of the attempt, usually at the Society’s Annual General Meeting in April or May.
Who Can Apply
Individuals and groups in the UK are eligible to apply.
Eligible activities must:
- Be realistic.
- Show evidence of sound planning.
- Show evidence that the proposal will be attempted within the time scale of the Award.
- Take into account the scientific element of Scott’s expeditions.

The deadline for applications is the end of March of any year.
Applications should be made in writing.
